Air filtration is one thing that a lot of woodworkers put off for a long time. Yet the moment you install an air filtration system, you quickly realize what a huge difference it makes. Most woodworkers find that after working for a while, the air is brittle and hurtful to the lungs. Dust settles everywhere, not just near the area where you work.
Once you install the JET air filtration system however, all of that changes. The air is smooth, clear and clean again – Both before you’re working, and after. No more coughing and sneezing dust. Also, dust stops landing everywhere in your shop. Even when you come in the next day, you don’t find all the dust that was in the air settled over everything. Instead, everything is spick and spam, just the way you left it.
So how does the JET AFS-1000B really perform? Let’s take a look.
JET AFS-1000B Installation: 5 / 5
Unlike other air filtration systems, the JET AFS-1000B air filtration system is fairly light. You can pick it up with one hand without much effort. You could hold it to the wall or the ceiling with one hand while you mount it with the other.
The instructions in the manual are crystal clear. Mounting the device shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.
The JET 1000b can be mounted on a wall or on the ceiling. Most people choose to mount it on the ceiling, near the area where you’re doing your work.
JET AFS-1000B Ease of Use: 5 / 5
Using the JET air filter system couldn’t be any easier. Other air filters will generally require you to turn it on by physically flipping a switch or turning a dial. That can be a real hassle if you have a ceiling mounted filter.
The JET 708620B on the other hand works via remote. You can control both the speed and the timer all via remote control. That means you can simply turn on the filter as you enter your shop with the push of a button. When you leave your shop, you can just set it on the low setting to clean the air for 4 hours and leave. When you arrive the next day, there’s no dust film over any of your tools.
Best of all, the timer on the device allows you to set it and forget it. With other filters, you have to remember to turn it off when you’re done. With the JET air filtration system, you just need to set the timer and it’ll turn off automatically once it’s done.
NJET AFS-1000B oise Levels: 4.5 / 5
The unit does make some noise when you have it turned on high. But since you’ll only turn it on high when you’re woodworking, the noise level generated by the air filter will be completely drowned out by your other tools.
On the other hand, the low and medium settings are very quiet. The low setting especially is quiet as a whisper. You could leave it on at night and none of your neighbors will hear a peep.
JET AFS-1000B Cleanup: 5 / 5
Changing your filters is quite easy. There are no screws or complex contraptions to open. You just unclip four flips, slide out the old filter and slide in the new one. The whole thing takes one minute.
When it comes to air filtration systems, the JET AFS-1000B is about as good as it gets. It’s easy to use, it’s remote controlled, it’s easy to install, it runs quietly, it’s powerful and it even turns itself off. To top things off, it’s even backed by a five year warranty. What more could you ask for?
